Stronger Together

Take my hand

It's a long road

It's a short stay

We pass through life on earth 🌎

But don't get to stay,

We enter and leave alone

Though we get to hold each others hand

Along the way.

We are all an integral part

Joined at the heart ❤️

Still powerful alone -

But stronger together.

These are difficult days for many. This time of year puts an extra pressure on everyone to conform to the ‘perfect’ family Christmas 🎄, when often their lives are far from perfect in the everyday.

There is this unspoken consensus that we are ‘supposed’ to be having a great time- with gifts 🎁 and gatherings and fun - whatever our present circumstances may be. It is a time when those who are struggling with life - going through pain, the passing of a loved one or personal or financial loss, will find it hard to reconcile their situation with the external festivities around them.

There will be the memories of past Christmases - both good and bad - the friends and family we have lost 💔 or the pressure to ‘make it wonderful’ whatever the cost to our mental health.

This year I have decided to take a step back from all the razzmatazz and to focus on what really matters to me. Spending time with those I connect with in the heart ❤️ My heart family. Be they far or near.

I am reminded today of the fact that true love is transcendent- it does not depend on being reciprocated - nor can it be bought with gifts or money. True love is unconditional loving acceptance of what is. It demands that we be fully present in each moment we share together. It is truly our PRESENCE that matters to those we love and care for - and to those that love us. Presents 🎁 will always be a secondary affection.

So this Christmas 🎄 I wish you all the peace and joy that comes from a settled heart within. I extend my love to you whether we connect in this physical realm - or if we are presently out of touch. For love is greater than we believe - it extends far beyond barriers of separation or doubt. In fact, love is all that is real.
